ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting for Tenant Activity and Leasing
Ensure all required documentation is received from leasing agents for new leases and amendments.
Enter all new leases into Timberline and submit lease abstract to property management and Senior Accountant for review.
Process all approved tenant adjustments from property management in a timely manner.
Prepare a draft late charges and generate monthly rent roll for all properties.
Record all cash receipts to Timberline and communicate tenant delinquencies for property management with all needed documentation.
Maintain security deposit and other prepaid rents ledgers in Timberline.
Prepare monthly report of upcoming lease expirations and options to provide to property management.
Ensure that appropriate entries are properly posted to the General Ledger, for all duties described above.
Monthly Accounting Functions:
Prepare journal entries and corresponding backup for all balance sheet and income statement accounts for assigned properties.
Maintain backup schedules and documentation in electronic format for all assigned properties.
Review General Ledger for accuracy and ensure that all invoices are properly posted.
Assist Senior Accountant with preparation and compilation of monthly reports to be sent to property management for review.
Calculate applicable monthly expenses for lease commissions, real estate taxes, insurance and other expenses as necessary.
Other miscellaneous tasks as required.
Assist property management and Senior Accountant with preparation of CAM reconciliations.
Assist property management and Senior Accountant with preparation of budgets for properties.
Enter appropriate CAM adjustments to Timberline for all properties.
Enter annual budgets to General Ledger for all properties.
Assist Senior Accountant in preparation of 1099’s.
Assist Senior Accountant in closing the calendar year for all properties.
Strict adherence to all internal control policies (i.e. cash management, documentation requirements, etc…).
Strong attention to detail.
Able to work independently.
Strong MS Office skills including MS Excel and Word.
Comfortable with computer applications.
Be an effective team member and work well with others.
Prior property management accounting experience.
Timberline (Sage 300 CRE) experience.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from accredited institution, or minimum five years comparable experience required.
At least one year in full cycle accounting experience preferred.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and relevant experience. This position is for full time employment plus benefits. Occasional overtime is necessary during peak periods.
